To whom it may concern:
My wife and I own 120 acres with over 100 head of horses, mules and donkeys. We are presently providing equine therapy for the military veterans suffering from PTSD, at-risk children from Youth Villages, special needs children of Buffalo River Services, children from CAB and Head Start and providing horses and helping children at YMCA camps. We have a very experienced and dedicated staff that believes in our mission to helping people, “changing one life at a time”. We would greatly appreciate any help you can give us. Jim

Jim Nothstein Founder and CEO
I am a retired CMSGT from U.S. Air Force with 27 ½ years of service. I am a Vietnam veteran and the majority of my career was in special operations. I have an extensive educational background. I was the commandant of a 14 week AFSC Air Training Command/Tactical Air Command based school at Hurlburt Field, FL for seven years and a certified master instructor.
I was a licensed full time guide and outfitter in Colorado for 12 years. I started the first guide and outfitter training school that was certified by the Colorado Board of Education for college credits. A year and a half later I got the school VA certified to help our veterans. At my outfitting camp I worked with at-risk youth and abuse victims where I provided self-confidence and relationship building camps and fear, phobia and anxiety camps.
I also owned and operated a year round riding stable at the Royal Gorge in Colorado for six years. I have trained and worked horses for over 52 years, both professionally in the outfitting, stable business and recreational areas.
I am a certified Equine Assisted Healthcare Instructor for Spirit Horse International and an EAP/EAL instructor with Greg Kersten’s O.K. Corral Series. I have been doing equine assisted learning (EAL) for over 20 years. Rather than retiring again I feel led and compelled to helping people heal and progress with the help of horses. We have a very dedicated staff that believes in our mission of “Rescued Horses Rescue People” and “Changing One Life at a Time”.

I am a certified Equine Assisted Healthcare instructor with SpiritHorse International; and an EAP/EAL Instructor with Greg Kersten’s O,K. Corral Series. My forte is mules, where I have over 25 years experience of raising and training mules, horses and donkeys.
I was a military dependant growing up. My dad was Lt. Col. William Lieb. He retired with 26 ½ years in the U.S. Army in Air Defense Artillery and Research and development of Air Defense for the Army. I am still a military dependant with my husband a retired CMSGT of the U. S. Air Force.
I attended Pikes Peak Community college in Colo. Spgs., CO. Taking courses in the field of secretarial, management and criminal justice from 1975-1998. I was a volunteer reserve police officer with the Manitou Springs, CO Police Dept 1979.
My passion is training mules and helping people reconstruct their lives with the aid of equine assisted learning. There is nothing more rewarding to me than seeing a family reconnect, bond and communication with each other or watching our youth, military veterans, abuse victim’s and others work with the horses while they figure out solution to their problems. Horses are a 1200 pound lie detector that just does miracles with people.
